Introducing the Newly Renovated Sandals South Coast in Jamaica
On 13th December 2016, Sandals Resorts re-launched the award-winning Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa as Sandals South Coast. The totally reimagined Luxury Included® resort unveils recent renovations that embrace and incorporate the natural beauty and bounty of the 50-acre property’s stunning beachfront setting in Jamaica’s South Coast region.
“With this re-launch, we have brought our most innovative ideas and concepts to absolutely reimagine the guest experience,” says Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, Chairman and Founder of Sandals Resorts International. “The results further embody the beauty of the region embracing the incredible beach and water this resort boasts nestled within 500 acres of nature preserve.”
The multi-million dollar renovation of Sandals South Coast includes the following elements:
Now Open
Bar-Tender – a floating, ocean-based swim up bar opened in November 2016
Latitudes – Sandals’ first dedicated over-the-water bar where guests can enjoy their cocktails in hammocks suspended above the Caribbean Sea opened in December 2016
Over-the-water Wedding Chapel – opened in December 2016, the chapel offers breathtaking 360-degree, panoramic water views and a glass floor aisle. Brides and grooms also have the option to make a grand entrance on their special day by arriving to the wedding chapel in style via boat.
Additional renovations included upgrades to the resort’s existing five restaurants in November 2016, as well as four new 5-Star Global Gourmet™ dining options, which are now available: Sushi on the Sand; Beach Picnic, an option for Butler guests to have a romantic picnic on the beach; Jerk Shack, a dining option with open-air seating and rustic vibe that serves authentic jerk dishes; and Schooner’s, which serves Caribbean fare.
Opening in 2017
Following the success of the Over-the-Water Villas at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Sandals also plans to open 12 over-the-water bungalows accessible via a heart shaped pier in July 2017.
All accommodations at Sandals South Coast are ocean-facing allowing guests to maximise their enjoyment of the beach and some of the most memorable sunsets in Jamaica.
