Caribbean Community Members Honored At Butch Stewart Community Awards
Sandals Resorts celebrated the Butch Stewart Community Awards (BSCA) on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the Sandals Grande Riviera Beach & Villa Golf Resort. The winners were among a group of 35 finalists selected from almost 300 nominees across ten different categories.
Chairman of the Sandals/ATL Group, Gordon 'Butch' Stewart, in whose honor the awards were created, urged the finalists to keep up the hard work. "We are happy to be able to come together today to recognize the efforts of everyone here. Your work is amazing and we need more people like you in Jamaica," Stewart said.
All 25 finalists received complimentary weekend stays for two at Sandals Resorts as well as certificates, while the each category winner received five to six-night stays for two at Sandals Resorts, along with engraved plaques.
The BSCA, which official launched on May 8, 2014, is designed to identify and reward heroes who have selflessly devoted their lives to service and community development. Nominees are assessed on their overall contribution to the development of their community, their contributions to their specific social sector, years of service and the impact their work has had on the lives of community members.
