Conde Nast Traveler highlights Sandals LaSource’s Comprehensive Diving Program

Just a short boat ride away from the Sandals LaSource Grenada Resort & Spa lies one of the most popular tourist sites on the Caribbean island of Grenada and, it’s underwater. About 25 feet down in Moliniere Bay, sit 65 sculptures, a collection of submerged art known as the Underwater Sculpture Park. And let’s be real… who wouldn’t want to see an underwater sculpture park?

This incredible sculpture park built by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor, aside from being the perfect backdrop for a ‘like worthy Instagram picture’ plays a much more important role. The park acts as a new base for the regeneration of Grenada’s coral reefs. It is constructed of resilient, reduced pH cement that promotes coral development. The idea is that the park will attract marine life back to an area of the sea floor which was unfortunately ravaged by Hurricanes Ivan and Emily, in 2004 and 2005.

Sandals LaSource which is ranked as one of the best resorts in the Caribbean in Condé Nast Traveler's Reader's Choice Awards, offers unlimited scuba diving as part of its Luxury Included ® activities. This means that divers of all levels have the ability to dive as much or as little as they would like.

As Conde Nast Traveler says “Day after day, boatloads of snorkelers and divers jump in and extend their GoPros to capture photos of the haunting shapes, which range from still life scenes, like fruit and a pitcher on a table, to a field of 16 human forms lying in the sand.”
