SANDALS® RESORTS AND BEACHES® RESORTS SHINE IN THE 2024 TRAVEL WEEKLY MAGELLAN AWARDS
Celebrated for cutting-edge products, guest experiences and campaigns, Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts earned nine accolades in the 2024 Magellan Awards, hosted by Travel Weekly – one of the industry’s most influential providers of news, research, opinion and analysis to the North American travel trade marketplace. The recognitions include six gold awards and three silver, with coveted roles across impactful categories, including Special Needs Programming, Giving Back Initiatives, New Resort, and Communications/PR campaign, among others – bringing forward Sandals Resorts International’s commitment to excellence and innovation in hospitality and marketing.
A Commitment to Inclusivity and the Caribbean Islands
As the only hospitality organization in the world to hold the rigorous Advanced Certified Autism Center™ certification and on the heels of a successful second annual Autism Inclusion Week, Beaches Resorts’ Autism Program earned gold in the Special Needs Programming category. The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, was also recognized with gold in the Giving Back Initiative category for its Power of 15 project, an anniversary campaign that seeks to bring renewable solar energy to Caribbean schools. The Gift of Blue sale, a spin on last year’s Black Friday campaign, also earned gold in the Promotions with a Purpose category for its contributions to the Sandals Foundation’s ocean conservation efforts.
Cutting Edge Design in the Caribbean
Shining a light on Sandals’ newest home in the Eastern Caribbean, Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was recognized in three categories: Fitness Room Design (gold), Penthouse Design (gold) and New Resort/Hotel (silver) with a special focus on the resorts’ Lady Palm Club Suite with Fitness Room, which features a personal exercise bike, free weights and other equipment, and the brands’ first-ever Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villa. Nestled in the heart of Ocho Rios, Sandals Dunn’s River earned Silver in the All-Inclusive Resort category.

Beaches Resorts’ festive partnership with the Lumistella Company, creators of The Elf on the Shelf®, earned gold in the Communications/PR Campaign category - shining a light on the brand’s on-resort activation with one of the holiday season’s most beloved traditions, returning to Beaches for the second year in a row in 2024. “Caribbean Cribs with Adam Stewart” won silver in the Social Media Campaign category, as the resort company’s Executive Chairman takes to Instagram to personally showcase his favorite innovations across the portfolio.
