Want to Marry Harry? There's still time...

Real-life Meghans and Harrys get £200 off when they book a Sandals holiday before 12th December to celebrate the royal engagement.

Couples can book by popping into the Sandals Luxury Travel Store in London or calling 0800 597 0002 before 12 December 2017, quoting "SHESAIDYES"

The real Prince Harry is no stranger to Sandals having visited Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort in December last year and Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island in Jamaica in 2012.

Sandals is currently putting the finishing touches to the company’s newest addition, the aptly named Sandals Royal Barbados, ahead of the opening on the 20th December. The ultra-luxury beach front resort will feature more than 200 butler and concierge level suites, a rooftop infinity pool, gentleman’s barber shop and four-lane bowling alley – all firsts for the brand. What’s more, guests in the top category rooms can get the real royal treatment with Rolls Royce transfers from the airport to the resort.

Customers looking to pop the question overseas can take advantage of Sandals’ very own engagement concierge, Lina Daukantaite, who can provide advice and orchestrate scenarios at any of the 16 resorts in the Caribbean for the perfect proposal. From coming up with the idea to booking private helicopters at the resort, Daukantaite and her team are on hand to create the most unforgettable proposals in the most stunning settings to secure that all-important “yes”.

Here are some top proposal tips from Lina Daukantaite, engagement concierge, Sandals Resorts:

-          Asking for their father or close family member’s permission: this is still a treasured tradition, even in this day and age. It’s a great way to impress the future in-laws and they can actually be useful when it comes to coordinating the big surprise.

-          Ring research: Look at the style of jewellery that your partner wears on a daily basis – this can be a good indication of their style preference and size. Check to see if your other half has created a not-so-subtle ring Pinterest page, or have their friends plan an impromptu ring trying-on session and get them to feed back. Insure the ring – if the sizing isn’t right, you want to make sure you’re protected. This is key if you’re travelling abroad. With sun, sea and sand in the mix, you’ll want cover against any potential damage or loss, especially in the first few days as your partner gets used to wearing the ring.

-          Whisk them away for an engagement to remember: The world’s your oyster. Pick somewhere you’ve always wanted to explore together and make it one to remember. Holidays are known to induce happiness and relaxation, meaning the likelihood of receiving a ‘yes’ is greatly improved.

-          Travel tips: A tip for packing the ring – attach a note to the ring box to ensure discretion, should you get stopped at security, and try not to pack it with items that are likely to attract further inspection.

-          Tailor accordingly: A sure-fire way to impress your partner when proposing is to show that you’ve thought about their needs, so tailor the execution accordingly. If they’re shy, make it a more intimate affair; if they’re outgoing, perhaps an all-singing, all-dancing flash mob proposal is the way forward.

-          Make it personal: For added impact, inject with your partner’s personality. Draw inspiration from their hobbies, utilise their favourite song or film, recreate your first date menu, get their friends and family involved or even take an ad out in their favourite daily newspaper. Get creative.

-          Speech nerves? Don’t over-practice your speech or you’ll be under too much pressure to deliver it word for word. Speak from the heart and try to avoid reading from a note as you will lose that all important eye contact.

-          Capture the moment: These days you can work with dedicated engagement teams to help bring your biggest proposal ideas to life and capture that priceless moment on film. With strategic placement and planning, this can be pulled off discreetly.
